2025 - Northern Lighting

Representing fifteen months of dedicated studio practice, this series marks my largest and most ambitious body of work to date. As my technical confidence grew, so did my desire to push the boundaries of my subject matter and medium. A feature of this collection is the integration of gold leaf—a material that required a learning curve and a shift in my creative process. The breakthrough came when I began experimenting with layering, discovering that the true magic happened not just in the gilding itself, but in the interplay of oil painted directly over the gold.
